King Island Council is looking to expand our operational workforce. Accordingly, we have multiple Labourer vacancies available for suitable candidates to join and become a valued member of Council’s Works team.
The Position:
These are permanent, full time positions, working a rostered 9-day fortnight.
Typical responsibilities will include but are not limited to completing physical labouring tasks, civil construction (roads and footpaths), and parks and recreation maintenance activities, to ensure Council’s infrastructure program is completed to a high standard, safely and in a timely manner, for the community of King Island.
Remuneration will be dependent on skills and experience in the range of $45,688 and $53,759 plus superannuation. Terms and conditions of employment will be in accordance with King Island Council’s Enterprise Agreement and the Local Government Industry Award 2020.
The Person:
Ideally, we are looking for individuals who have worked in a similar position or who have relatable work experience and transferable skills, however this is not essential, as training can be provided.
In addition, candidates will have a strong work ethic, with a focus on safety, be able to work in varied weather conditions, have excellent communication skills, with a collaborative and customer focused manner.
A current drivers licence and WHS Construction Induction Certificate (White Card) are prerequisites for these positions.
