King Island Council is seeking a reliable and practical Civil Employee – Labourer to join our Works and Engineering team. This hands-on role supports the delivery of Council’s annual Works Program through construction, maintenance, parks and reserves upkeep, waste management and landfill operations, equipment operation, and general labouring duties across the island.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys physical outdoor work, takes pride in contributing to the local community, and is committed to working safely as part of a supportive team.

We are looking for:

  • Current Class C driver licence, maintained for the duration of employment.
  • Willingness and ability to undertake physical and manual labour tasks in a range of outdoor environments.
  • WHS Construction Induction Certificate White Card, or willingness to obtain one after commencement.
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work safely, follow instructions, and contribute positively to a team environment.
  • Experience in civil construction, maintenance will be highly regarded.
