Waste Management Strategy
Council have allocated budget in FY18/19 to develop an action plan for improved management of our Island’s waste or potential resources.
An Expression of Interest issued in November 2017 as part of an application to Building Better Regions Fund Round 2 led to the engagement of A.Prince Consulting.
Anne Prince, the principal of this company, has extensive experience in preparing resource management strategies for Island and remote communities across Australia and the world.
The process of developing a comprehensive strategy for the next 10 years has started with a visit to the Island last week for an initial assessment of the facilities and resources currently in place.
Another visit is planned later this year to give residents, businesses and special interest groups the chance to discuss opportunities for improvement and priority actions for our Island.
