Severe Weather Warning
Please see the attached Severe Weather Warning for Damaging Winds for people on King Island, Western, Upper Derwent Valley, South East, East Coast, North West Coast, Central Plateau, Midlands and parts of North East and Central North Forecast Districts issued at 4.44pm this afternoon.
Weather Situation: A strong cold front will move south-eastwards across Tasmania during the day on Tuesday. Following this feature, a deepening low-pressure system over the eastern Great Australian Bight will pass just to the south of the Tasmania on Tuesday evening.
North-westerly winds with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of around 100 km/h are possible, developing from late morning Tuesday through the afternoon over western, central, and northeastern areas. These conditions should spread into the southeast of the state including Hobart on Tuesday evening, and then ease early Wednesday morning.
