Safeguarding Volunteering
Volunteering underpins most activities on King Island, providing a broad range of significant and essential services to our community. Ensuring we have enough volunteers to meet our community’s needs, and that those volunteers are supported in what they do, is the responsibility of us all.
Volunteering Tasmania and King Island Council have partnered in the Safeguarding Volunteering Project, supporting the King Island community to develop a community-based Volunteer Strategy to safeguard volunteering in the region.
This week, Volunteering Tasmania is hosting two community information sessions:
Thursday 10 February
10:00am, Grassy Club, Cabaret Room – Grassy
5:30pm, King Island Hotel, Cataraqui Room – Currie
Each session will include a brief presentation to introduce the project and outline the steps involved in creating the final Volunteer Strategy, with ample time after for questions and discussion.
All are welcome to attend. If you aren’t able to attend but want to know more about the project, please contact Helen Thomas at hthomas@kingisland.tas.gov.au for more information.
