Roadside Cattle Grazing Policy

Council understands the additional pressures facing farmers at the moment, due to the extended dry conditions.  As part of our ongoing commitment to support our community, Council wishes to highlight our Roadside Cattle Grazing Policy.

This Policy allows for short term grazing of cattle on Council owned and controlled road verges, subject to policy conditions being met.

For more information on our Roadside Cattle Grazing Policy, please see the links below.  Alternatively, you can contact our Customer Experience team on 03 6462 9000 or via email kicouncil@kingisland.tas.gov.au or pop in and see us at the Council Office.

It is also important to note the legal requirements for livestock on roads, which includes moving cattle on public roads.  These requirements are detailed in the Tasmanian Road Rules Regulations 2009 Part 22 – Division 2 Livestock on Roads.
