Pass River Bridge – Signage Upgrade
Council is aware of some concerns by motorists regarding the visibility between vehicles approaching the Pass River Bridge on North Rd.
An assessment of the site has been undertaken against the relevant road design standards which has found that there is no need to clear vegetation within the land on the west side of the bridge. However, the assessment did find that the existing warning signs either side of the bridge do need to be upgraded.
After consulting with the Department of State Growth, Council will be installing new signage on both approaches to the bridge. The planned signage changes will be completed on Friday 21 July 2023 (weather permitting).
The new signs won’t change the current requirement for motorists travelling south along North Road to prepare to stop and give way to vehicles that are either approaching the bridge or already on the bridge.
