LPS Information for Primary Producers

Over the last few years Council has been talking to rural landowners about the future of land use planning on the island and how the transition to the Tasmanian Planning Scheme will affect you. As a result Council is proposing a unique rural zone for our island for inclusion in the draft King Island Local Provision Schedule (KILPS)

The KILPS is now on public exhibition until 12 January 2024. Representations are invited and will be accepted until 4.30pm, 12 January 2024.

The draft KILPS can be viewed on Council’s website: King Island – Local Provisions Schedule.  The site includes an interactive map so that you can search for your property and find which Codes and Overlays apply to your property.

To help you understand how all these changes will work and what will impact you we invite you to an information session for primary producers and those undertaking activities in the rural areas of our island.

The information sessions will be held Thursday, 30 November 2023 at the Council Chambers. You are welcome to attend at either 3.30pm or 5.30pm. We will provide a briefing and encourage conversation. The sessions will go for about an hour or as long as you want to talk.
