King Island Hospital & Netherby Home closed to visitors from 12 noon today

Premier Peter Gutwein in this morning’s address introduced further restrictions to all hospitals and aged care facilities, ruling out visitation from 12 noon today.

These come after announcing a ‘confirmed outbreak’ at the North West Regional Hospital, with two more confirmed cases related to the facility overnight.

The increased measures are intended to protect those that are most vulnerable in our community and will be in place for an initial two week period, before being reviewed.

There are some exceptions, as listed below:

HOSPITALS

  • Partner visiting for the birth of a child
  • Parent visiting a dependent child
  • End of life/compassionate care

AGED CARE FACILITIES

  • End of life/compassionate care
