King Island Council Elections 2026 – Final Candidates List
The Tasmanian Electoral Commission have announced the final candidate listing for the King Island Council election 2026.
Five candidates nominated for seven councillor positions on King Island Council by the original close of nominations on Monday 21 September. All five were elected unopposed.
In accordance with section 274(3) of the Local Government Act 1993, nominations were reopened for the two remaining councillor vacancies. By the close of nominations on Monday 28 September 2026, three candidates had nominated for the two remaining positions.
King Island electors will be voting to fill the two remaining councillor positions, and for mayor and deputy mayor.
