GRANT RECEIVED TO DELIVER A CERT III IN HOSPITALITY

King Island Council recently received funding through the Foundation of Rural and Regional Renewal, sponsored by Dominoes to pilot a vocational Tafe course through TasTAFE. The aim is to deliver a Cert III in Hospitality to students on the Island this academic year.

With 50% of the Island’s workforce over the age of 50, it is imperative that the community entice its youth to stay on the Island, and how better to do that than through an education program that ties into a growth industry. One that will not only benefit them individually, but their families and the community as a whole.
