All national parks and reserves now closed

Parks and Wildlife Services is calling on Tasmanian’s to support the national effort to limit the spread of COVID-19 and stay home. To stop any non-essential travel during this time, all national parks and reserves closed from midnight on 26 March 2020. No day or overnight walks, mountain biking, fishing or other activity will be permitted until further notice. This follows the closure of PWS campgrounds to locals and visitors.

You can keep up-to-date with the latest news on the PWS Facebook page and website or seek answers to their frequently asked questions.

Please be advised that information shared by Council and posted on this page regarding the COVID-19 response was correct at the time of publication.

Due to the dynamic nature of the federal and state governments responses to the pandemic – information, fact sheets, and government websites are being updated but often are lagging as the situation changes and new orders and/or directives become law and recommendations or guidelines are put into place.
