10 Days on the Island – Cataraqui Commemoration
Come down to the King Island Arts & Cultural Centre this weekend to see how King Island, Tasmanian and Australian artists have responded to the 175th anniversary of the Cataraqui wreck and the loss of 399 souls.
Events include a gallery exhibition, Poor Souls, and the premiere of Fathom, an underwater dance and soundscape projected over the water at Currie Harbour. These two elements are included in the program for 10 Days on the Island, Tasmania’s bi-annual statewide arts festival. Also to be enjoyed over the weekend are Unspoken, a collaboration between three acclaimed Tasmanian Aboriginal artists and performances by The Brian Ritchie Trio.
