Parks, Halls & Sporting Complexes
Council is responsible for the town hall, recreation complex, two sporting ovals, netball courts, tennis courts, several parks and reserves.
Council has a major recreation facility at the King Island Recreation Complex. These facilities are primarily used by the King Island Racing Club, for their annual harness and galloping race seasons, Pony Club and for the King Island Show. Council also operates a recreation ground at Currie, which includes the football oval, tennis and netball courts.
Recreation park furniture, playground equipment, barbeques and shelters are all maintained by Council.
Council is supportive of the Swimming Association of King Island (SAKI) who manages the Swimming Pool in the Grassy Township. Also the Department of Education provides a smaller pool for students and general community located in Currie.
